PPMA Thousand Oaks Dance Ensemble (TODE)

The Thousand Oaks Dance Ensemble, established in 2016, is an adult dance group composed of dance enthusiasts from the Thousand Oaks area in the Conejo Valley. The mission of the ensemble is to provide a platform for local dance lovers to learn, exchange, and enhance their skills, while promoting traditional Chinese culture through dance performances and fostering communication and collaboration with diverse groups. The Thousand Oaks Dance Ensemble is part of the non-profit organization Pacific Pearl Music Association (PPMA) and is the youngest of its three affiliated groups.

The ensemble engages professional dance instructors with high artistic expertise, both from the local area and from China, to lead physical training and teach various dance styles, including ethnic dances, ballet, jazz, and other genres. Under the expert guidance of these instructors, the members diligently practice, continually improving their dance proficiency. The troupe has remained active in the Greater Los Angeles area. Since its founding in 2016, it has regularly contributed exceptional performances to local events organized by the Conejo Chinese Cultural Association (CCCA), including the annual Spring Festival Gala, Mid-Autumn Festivals, and the Conejo Valley Chinese Culture Festivals. It is widely recognized as the premier adult dance troupe in the Thousand Oaks area. In May 2023, the ensemble was invited to perform at the Asia-Pacific Traditional Culture Month event hosted by Amgen, receiving widespread praise and attention.

In response to the growing interest from social dance and fitness dance enthusiasts, the Thousand Oaks Dance Ensemble expanded its offerings by establishing a ballroom dance team in August 2019 and a fitness dance team in February 2022. The troupe has experienced significant growth and has become a prominent cultural organization in the Conejo Valley area.
